One thing that is super important is pet etiquette. Pet’s are one thing that can be very disturbing to the other people in the RV park. You should always pick up and pack their poop. It is definitely not nice to be walking outside, and see animal poop. You should also always have your pets on a leash, that way there is no chance that the pet can run away and disturb the other residents. Never leave your pets unattended. Another complaint that RV parks get a lot is how loud your pet is. No one wants to wake up in the middle of the night to a dog park. Make sure that you control your pets.

Another thing is that you need to adhere to the quiet hours. When it is quiet hours, you should not be making too much noise, so that you are disturbing the others in the park. It is ok to make a little bit of noise, but when it gets to the point when neighbors can hear you, that is when you need to quiet down. For example, maybe you are watching an outdoor movie, and you have it turned up super loud. That is not respectful to your neighbors. You can definitely watch a movie, but make sure it is a quiet volume, where no one else can hear. Make sure you are respecting the quiet hours, no matter how much fun you are having.

You should always respect your own spaces, and other people’s space. Stay out of other people’s areas. Most people are not going to be happy if they see someone else walking through their campsite. You should also keep your own space looking nice. Don’t drop trash everywhere, and pick up after yourself. Keep your things organized, and don’t throw your things in random places. 

The last thing you should do is respect the set-up/set-down  times. Do not arrive late to your scheduled set-up time. There is a certain time to do the set-up/down for a reason. We do not want to disturb the other residents at the RV park.

One of the first steps in helping yourself and making sure your living space is orderly and clean. Having a clean space makes everything in life easier. From finding your favorite tee shirt to making sure you have enough dishes clean for dinner organization can save you the time and hassle while doing everyday tasks. 

There is no better time to reorganize your living space than the month of January. The holidays have come and gone leaving everyone refreshed and ready to tackle any challenges that may come your way, including cleaning and organizing your trailer. Use your motivation and momentum to get this chore out of the way so as you go into the new year so you are ready to go. 

Because your home is mobile in addition to cleaning the inside of your trailer, take some time to evaluate the outside. If something is broken or in poor repair it could impair your ability to travel the way you want to. Taking care of these issues in the colder months of the year before you wish to travel. It could be something as simple as washing the outside and cleaning it up or something bigger like replacing the tires. If you need to be replacing tires or other major hardwear, be through when hiring someone to do it. If you know a good company that you have used in the past go to them as they are reliable, if you do not know anyone do some research to see what will give you the best bang for your buck.

The first thing to do when starting to plan an event is check the weather for that day. Being able to use your yard and be outside is a great way to ensure your home is not cramped. If the weather is pleasant you can have outdoor seating and yard games for your guests to use. Being able to use your outdoor space means you can have more people over, and enjoy your event without worrying about space. 

If the weather is going to be poor and unpleasant on the day of your event, you have to be more creative and use the indoor space you have. The biggest problem you will run into is having enough seating and standing space. An easy solution to this problem is rearrange your furniture and maybe even move some pieces into your bedroom or other storage room. If this is hard or not reasonable use what seating you have available. Find the small spaces where you can set up chairs, and keep people moving so everyone has a chance to sit and stand. 

Another way to keep your stress levels down while hosting a gathering or party is get as much of the preparation done before the event starts. This means have all the food cooked, plated, and ready to eat before anyone comes. Get all the decorations you need and set them up with hours to spare. Trying to get your party ready when there are guests already there can be difficult especially when there is a limited amount of space.

Wash your clothes

Before starting the packing process wash all of your clothes going into storage. Even though your clothes may not appear dirty, they can still contain dirty and other things that can damage your clothes. Be sure to get out all of the food stains you can, because these stains will attract pests. Once everything is washed you can begin to pack. 

Get plastic storage containers

While it is more cost effective to use plastic bags or cardboard boxes for packing, it is not a good way to preserve your clothes. Using plastic bins with lids that seal tight is the best way to preserve clothing. These bins will keep dust, humidity, and pests out of your clothes. Be sure to not pack the boxes too tight as clothes need some airflow. If possible keep your boxes off the floor, this can help keep pests out of your boxes. 

Re-fold clothes every few years

Clothes can become creases if they are not moved around, aired out, and re-folded every 1-2 years. Taking the time to re-fold your clothes also gives you the chance to go through them all and find any damaged items.

The very first thing you should do is make a plan. Decide when the party will start and end, and where it is going to be. Once that has been decided the next step is to choose a theme. This could be based on a book, movie, television show, character, sports, hobby, etc… There are so many themes to choose from. When deliberating try to pick a theme that will be ways to incorporate in games and food. Having a mainstream theme will make it easier to shop for decorations, cake toppings, and supplies for games. 

Make a list of everything you will need for the party. Try to have everything a few days before the party starts. This way you will not forget anything and not have to rush to the store. A major part of this is buying ingredients for a cake or ordering a cake from a bakery. If you choose to make a cake there are two different options. You can make the whole cake from scratch or you can use a box mix. Both of these options are great, it just depends on what you want. 

When thinking about what games to plan, think of what you already have, and if there is any outdoor space at your Los Angeles RV Park from the kids to play. The internet is a great resource to use when trying to find games. Some games that kids love are freeze tag, pin the tail on the donkey, and hitting a pinata.

Have a plan

Starting a major project without a plan can lead to disaster. It is better to spend a little more time at the start than spend a lot more later on. A time efficient strategy is to start with your most important rooms and spaces. Once those areas have been cleaned you can start on the easier parts of the house. This plan also helps if you only have a limited amount of time to spend cleaning. Before starting take an inventory of all of your cleaning products. If any are needed make time to run to the store. 

Divide and conquer

Get the whole family involved. A job is much easier when multiple people are working on it. Make assignments for your family members, and get everyone cleaning. Even young kids can help, by picking up toys in their bedroom and picking up items in other rooms. With the whole family helping the job will be done quickly. 

Organize as you go

Spring cleaning is not only just cleaning, it is also a great time to reorganize your trailer. It can be hard to make everything fit in a trailer. Reorganizing can open up more space for other things. It also de-clutters your tight living space.

In honor of world book day this month, April 23^rd, we’ve decided to compile a list of the most popular books people are reading as they quarantine at home. We want to note that none of these books are sponsored and we are not affiliated with any of these books or authors.

The No. 1 bestselling book on Amazon was the “My First Learn to Write Workbook,” which is a great option for kids to practice with pen control, line tracing and letters. This one doesn’t come as a huge surprise. Parents all over the country are finding new ways to keep their kids entertained while homeschooling.

That book is followed by Delia Owens’ “Where the Crawdads Sing,” and Celeste Ng’s “Little Fires Everywhere.” You may have heard of that one as it was recently adapted into a Hulu original series starring Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington.

According to MarketWatch, many adults are buying and reading survival and homemaking books. One of the most popular is the newly released cookbook from Joanna Gaines “Magnolia Table, Vol. 2: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering.”  Of course, the classics like F Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby” are perfect for dusting off the shelf during this time.

Whatever your choice, there are plenty of options to escape reality or learn a new skill.

At first, the shelter in place sounded like a fun little break. Growing up in Colorado, we could count on snow days to break the long winter, and I loved curling up with a fire and good book or movie to watch. That’s great for a day or two, but as we’ve all discovered, gets old pretty fast! 

My spouse and I regularly give and receive games for holidays, birthdays, etc. Since space is a premium, we, like our neighbors at Imperial Trailer Village, a leading Los Angeles RV park, look to fill our home with smaller items that return the most joy. Our children know that we look for this quality, and gifted accordingly. This past year, they sent us a new card game, Fantasy Realms. It’s become our favorite go-to, and boy, have we gone-to over the last few weeks! 

Not heard of it? Neither had we! The card game is seemingly simple upon opening, but yields a superb re-play factor. There are 12 suits, although they are more akin to categories, and your build your hand by collecting cards and discarding until the set number of cards in the discard array is met. The object of the game is to score the highest score possible. Each card has a face value as well as bonus/penalties that can boost your hand or wipe it out.  

This is where it gets interesting. In fact, WizKids recommends use of their scoring app (Apple and Android) to automatically calculate your score. You can add the cards from your hand into the app as you go, to test various scenarios. At first, my partner and I were stumbling along, but after about three hands and using the app, we caught the bug and haven’t looked back. Game play for 2 is about 20 minutes.  

I highly recommend adding it to your collection!

With the heightened public awareness of the new Coronavirus from China, we’re taking a moment to remind all of the precautions that should be taken for everyday illnesses and how we can work together to keep our community from Imperial Trailer Village, a leading Los Angeles RV park, and neighbors healthy.  

Stay home if you are sick 

With options from many employers to work from home, stay home if you have a fever, runny nose, coughing, vomiting, or diarrhea. Any of these can show an active virus that can be spread. Not only do you prevent sharing the bug, you can rest and heal more quickly. Children should be kept home from school if they are sick as well.  

Cold or flu – or worse? 

You did get your flu shot, didn’t you? If not, why not? Flu vaccines have long been the primary defense against the flu. Doctors recommend that if you fall sick quickly for you to get a quick appointment so that you can take advantage of anti-flu medications that can shorten the duration of the flu.  

Colds typically don’t cause fevers or come on as suddenly. If you have knowingly been exposed to the flu or have other questions, it is best to contact your healthcare professional. As far as the Coronavirus, the risk to Los Angeleños is minimal. If you have contact with someone who has been in China during the last month or so, please inform your doctor.
